Once again it’s time for the Festive Friday Challenge. This Challenge is made up of several great designers from all over the World. They give us a list of items to pick up to create our cards. We must use at least 3 of the 10 items.
I could not make up my mind on which card to put into the Festive Friday Challenge so this time I’m putting in 2 cards. Here is my second card. I think I must have had Spring on my brain.
For this card I used Flowers/ Plants, Encouragement, Bricks and Bugs/Insects.
Here are the cutting layout and instructions to make my card:
- Card base is Blushing Bride card stock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored and folded at 4 1/4″. This is a top folding card.
- Using Basic White card stock and the largest scalloped die from the Scalloped Contour Dies cut the next layer out.
- Cut another layer of Basic White card stock at 4 5/8″ x 3 1/4″ and run it through the Bricks and Mortar 3D Embossing folder and adhere it to the Contour layer with liquid glue.
- Die cut the large pansy pieces and the pansy bud in Basic White card stock using the Pansy Die. Die cut several leaves and the bud stem in Pear Pizzazz card stock and the pansy center in So Saffron card stock.
- Using the Blending Brushes lightly brush the large pansy and the bud with Blushing Bride ink. Brush the flower petals from the center out towards the edge. Brush the leaves and the bud stem with Pear Pizzazz ink. This adds more definition to the petals and the leaves.
- Lightly curl the petals and the leaves with your fingers or a bone folder.
- Attach the large petals together with glue dots. Use a glue dot and attach the flower center to the pansy. Attach the flower to the card using dimensionals. Put the dimensionals mostly in the center of the flower so you can still add the leaves and not have them interfer with the dimensionals.
- Add the pansy bud with a dimensional above the large pansy.
- Stamp a sentiment on Basic White card stock and stamp in Memento Black. Cut the sentiment on an angle and attach a piece of Blushing Bride to the sentiment also cut on an angle.
- Attach the sentiment with dimensionals.
- Add a Bumblebee trinket to your card.
