I am so excited to be able to participate in the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop for October. This month’s Blog Hop is a Halloween theme. This event has made me really think outside the box as I did not have any current Halloween stamps. So I decided to get a little creative making my Halloween card.
I used the Playing in the Rain stamp set and colored the images as if they were wearing costumes. Do they look like Superman and a turtle wearing a costume shell? Once again not having any Halloween Designer Series Paper either, I decided to create my own using the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks and brushed the hounds tooth pattern with orange and black ink. The sentiment is the Classic Letters stamp set. I stamped the letters B, O, O, several times (using the Stamparatus, which I love and will never give up) and fussy cut the letters out.
Complete cutting and Instructions to create this card:
- Card base is Basic Black card stock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored and folded at 4 1/4″
- Pumpkin Pie card stock layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″, adhered directly onto the Basic Black card base
- Basic White card stock layer is 3 3/4″ x 5″, embossed with the Thatched Basic 3D embossing folder
- I put the concave image of the embossing folder as the right side for this card and glued it directly to the card with liquid glue
- Using the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks, I created my own Designer Series Paper using Pumpkin Pie and Memento Black ink
- Cut the Designer Series Paper 1″ x 5″ and adhere directly to the embossed layer
- Stamp the images from the Playing in the Rain stamp set and the B, O, O, from the Classic Letters stamp set in Memento Black ink, stamping the letters several times to give them a dark black image
- Color the rabbit and turtle with Stampin Blends and create a mask on each one
- Fussy cut or die cut the images out and place on the card with dimensionals
- Adhere the B, O, O, directly to the embossed layer staggering them a little
- Color some Basic Rhinestones with dark Pumpkin Pie blends and add to the card.
Now let’s hop over and see all the other Demonstrators and their Halloween cards.
