I am so excited to once again participate in Kylie Bertucci’s International Card Challenge. This card challenge is made up of very talented Demonstrators from all around the World, who create amazing cards and you get to vote and pick your favorite cards and later on in the month, the Top Ten Winners get to participate in an International Blog Hop.
I wanted to use one of my favorite stamp sets from the new Jan – April 2024 Mini Catalogue. One stamp set that really caught my eye, was the Thoughtful Expressions Bundle with the beautiful Hummingbird stamp set and the matching dies. As you can see from my watermark and my Blog, Creating Art With Marilyn, that I have a thing for Hummingbirds! This stamp set is so much fun to color with the Stampin Blends.
Products I used to create this card:
- Stamp Sets – Thoughtful Expressions, Go To Greetings, Nature’s Prints
- Dies – Thoughtful Expressions
- Embossing Folders – Layered Floral, Thatched Basic 3D
- Punch – 2″ circle
- Specialty Paper – Vellum, Gold Foil
- Card Stock – Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, Basic White
- Embossing Powder – Gold
- Stampin Blends – Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, Old Olive, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight
- Embellishments – Fresh Freesia 3 Tinsel Gem Three Pack
I would really appreciate it, if you would take some time and vote for my card. Click on the image below to get the link to vote.
Complete cutting and instructions to complete this card:
- Card base is Highland Heather card stock, cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2 ” , scored and folded at 4 1/4″
- Emboss the front of the card base with the Thatched Basic 3D embossing folder
- Cut a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock, 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ and emboss it with the Layered Floral embossing folder
- Cut 2 strips of Gold Foil paper, 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, and attach to the embossed Fresh Freesia layer with Stampin Seal
- Adhere this layer to the card base with liquid glue, about 1 ” from the top of the card base
- Cut a piece of Vellum 2″ x 5″
- Use the Embossing Buddy, brush all over the vellum to reduce static
- With Versa Mark ink and the ink spots from the Nature’s Prints stamp set, stamp all over the vellum
- Heat emboss with Gold embossing powder
- Cut a flag out of the bottom of the vellum
- Add the vellum layer to the card with glue dots, placing the glue dots under the gold ink spots to hide them
- Stamp the flower image from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of Basic White card stock
- Color the flowers with Stampin Blends, using Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, Old Olive, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight
- Die cut the flowers out with the matching Thoughtful Expression dies
- Cut a Highland Heather circle out using the Thoughtful Expression dies
- On a piece of Basic White card stock, stamp a sentiment from the Go To Greeting in Highland Heather ink and cut it out with a 2″ punch
- Glue the circle to the die cut circle with liquid glue and then attach to the card with dimensionals
- Add the flowers to the circle with dimensionals as well
- Place some Fresh Freesia Gems from the Tinsel Gems 3 pack to finish the card
Very pretty! Thanks for being part of my International Blog Highlights this month and all the best with voting!
A lovely card, Marilyn! I love the gold heat-embossed vellum! I’ve never embossed a metallic on vellum. I’ll have to give it a try; it’s very effective!
Beautiful card, love what you did with the velumm paper, great layout
