It’s time for another Festive Friday Challenge. This challenge is made up of several great designers from all over the World. They give us a list of items to pick from to create a card. We must use at least 3 of the 10 Inspiration items listed below. This Week’s Challenge is World Party Day.
For my card I decided I wanted to try and make a pinwheel card.
My card is Pinwheel, Bright Colors, Twine, Celebratory Sentiment, Layers and Rhinestones
Here are the cutting and instructions to make my card:
- Card base is Gorgeous Grape card stock cut at 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2″
- Emboss the front of the card base with Painted Texture Embossing folder
- Cut a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Fresh Freesia card stock and run it through the Tasteful Texture 3D embossing folder. Attach this layer to card base using dimensionals
- Cut a piece of the Gorgeous Grape 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Assortment pack at 3″ x 3″
- Fold this piece of DSP in half and then fold it in half again in the opposite direction to mark it in 4 equal squares
- Cut 2 pieces of the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper at 2″ x 2″
- Cut these squares diagonally to form 2 small triangles (should have 4 small triangles)
- Curl one corner of the triangle to the bottom of the straight side of the triangle making the pinwheel blade and attack the corner with a glue dot. Continue this with all 4 triangles.
- Line the straight side of the pinwheel blade with the straight side of the 3″ x 3″ piece of DSP and glue it down with liquid glue
- Die cut an small flower from the Pierced Blooms die set in Fresh Freesia.
- Color a brad with the Blackberry Bliss Stampin Blends, then color it with some Wink of Stella for some sparkle and attack the brad to the center of the little flower and the center of the pinwheel
- Attack the 3″ x 3″ piece of DSP with the pinwheel to the card with dimensionals
- Stamp a sentiment in Rich Razzleberry on a piece of Fresh Freesia that is cut at 5/8″ x 3 – 7/8″
- Cut a piece of the Flowering Fields DSP 1″ x 4″ then attack it to the sentiment piece
- Tie an small faux bow in Fresh Freesia 3/8″ Open Weave Ribbon around the sentiment. Attach the sentiment to the card with dimensionals
- For some sparkle add some Basic Rhinestones
Marilyn that purple pinwheel is fabulous! I love the layering and seeing both sides of the floral paper on the pinwheel itself adds so much visual interest. Just lovely! Thanks for playing with us over at Festive Friday!
