When I saw the Sweet Song Bird Stamp set in the New 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue I just knew I had to have it! I am so excited to play with the New In Colors as well. I wanted to combine them and make a Mother’s Day card.
Cutting and instructions to create this card:
- Card base is Basic White Cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored and folded at 4 1/4″ making a top fold card
- Next layer is Night of Navy cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″, adhered to the card base
- Cut a piece of the New 6×6 In Color Designer Series paper in Tahitian Tide at 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ attach to the card stock layer
- Die cut a scalloped rectangle from the Scalloped Contour dies in Basic White cardstock
- Stamp the branch from the Sweet Songbird stamp set in Soft Suede and the leaves in Granny Apple Green ink
- On a scrap of Basic White cardstock stamp the bird in Tahitian Tide, eyes in Memento Black, beak in Mango Melody and feet Cinnamon Cider or Soft Suede
- Punch out the bird with the matching Songbird Punch
- Punch some clouds using the cloud punch in the In Color Glimmer paper in Tahitian Tide
- Punch out some tree branches using the Bough punch (I used a retired branch punch), sponge the edge of the branches with Granny Apple Green ink and use some tweezers to twist the leaves and give some extra texture
- Stamp a sentiment from the Celebrating You stamp set in Memento Black on a piece of Basic White cardstock and fussy cut it out
- Position the bird on the branch and stamp the bird’s feet on the branch and stamp some song notes in Memento Black
- Attach the bird on the scalloped layer with dimensionals
- Do a test fit of the rectangle and position the clouds under the rectangle with liquid glue
- Attach the scalloped rectangle to the card with dimensionals
- Place the branches in the upper left corner of the card with liquid glue
- Place a Loose Flower Flourish gem with a glue dot on the tree branch leaves
- Place a Basic Rhinestone in each of the centers of the flowers with liquid glue
- Place the sentiment on the card with dimensionals
