Festive Friday Challenge – #FF0102 – St. Valentine’s Day

I am once again participating in the Festive Friday Challenge. This Challenge is made up of several talented Demonstrators from all around the world. This week’s challenge is St. Valentine’s Day. For this Challenge we are to create a card using at least 3 of the 10 Inspirational items from the list.

From the Inspo List I choose Red, Pink , Sparkle and Watercolor

Instructions to create my card:

  1. Card Base is Basic White card stock cut at 7 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored and folded at 4 1/4″, by cutting the card stock at 7 1/2″ it gave me a 1/2″ narrower card to add the decorative border.
  2. I cut three of the decorative borders from the Painted Label Dies in Basic Black. I then attached them to my card using Stampin Seal.
  3. I used Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and Stamped out 3 of the large poppies and 2 of the smaller poppies and 7 leaves in Black Staz On Ink.
  4. Using the Water Painter Brushes and Poppy Parade, Petal Pink inkd I water colored the poppies, for the leaves I used Pear Pizzazz.
  5. I painted the centers of the poppies with Memento Black ink.
  6. I die cut the decorative circle from the Painted Labels die set using the new Silver Specialty paper from the new Waves of the Ocean Collection that will be available in March for customers.
  7. Using the Blending Brushes, I lightly brushed the front of the card with Pool Party to give the card a little colored background.
  8. I glued the silver circle on the card with liquid glue.
  9. I popped 2 of the large flowers on the circle with dimensionals then added the other flowers. I added the dimensionals to the centers of the flowers so when I added the leaves, the dimensionals did not interfere with the placing of the leaves.
  10. I added the leaves with glue dots.
  11. I stamped a sentiment from the Plentiful Plants stamp set in Poppy Parade onto a strip of 1/2″ Basic White card stock and cut the ends on an angle. I popped the sentiment up with dimensionals.
  12. I placed 3 of the Basic Rhinestones on to the card to add a little sparkle.

Gorgeous. I just love those wonderful blooms. The scalloped border helps ground them without detracting. So glad you shared this with us at Festive Friday this week
