Stampin Up (R)- Canada Inks Up Blog Hop – Spring Theme

Welcome to Canada Inks Up Blog Hop for February 2022. We are a group of Canadian Demonstrators, that are sharing our ideas in hope to inspire you. This month’s theme is Spring Theme and I think we are all ready for some Spring Time. For me, Spring Time means getting the garden ready and seeing all the spring bulbs that you planted last fall pop up. I love the Flowering Rain Boots Bundle and sings spring time to me.

Instructions to create my card:

  1. Card base is Basic White 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored and folded at 4 1/4″.
  2. Layer 2 is a piece of Gray Granite card stock cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ adhered to card base.
  3. Layer 3 is Basic White cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed with the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder.
  4. To enhance the bricks, I used sponge daubers and Crumb Cake, Gray Granite and Smokey Slate inks and sponged a few of the bricks.
  5. Cut an piece of wood grain DSP from the In Good Taste DSP that is cut at 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere directly onto the embossed brick layer.
  6. Stamp the sentiment on the wood dsp in Crumb Cake.
  7. Stamp the boots in Balmy Blue, the watering can in Smokey Slate, the clay pots in Cinnamon Cider, the tulip leaves in Pear Pizzazz and the tulips in Pale Papaya and then sponged a little Calypso Coral along the bottom edges of the tulips. The garden rake I used Silver foil and die cut it out and the the handle I used Balmy Blue card stock and attacked it to the rake.
  8. Die cut out the stamped images using the Rain Boots Dies.
  9. To insert the tulip leaves to the clay pots I cut a small line with a craft knife along the ring of the clay pot and inserted the tulip leaves into this to make it look like the tulips were growing in the pot.
  10. Pop the images up with dimentionals, some places I had to double up on the dimensionals to pop them up.
  11. I added a little Wink of Stella to only the shaded parts of the watering can.
  12. I added a few Polished Dots for a little bling.

Now that you have seen my card hop over to the next demonstrator and check out their great creation.
